I decided to come to CAAD at Â鶹´«Ã½ because of the unique opportunities and the high job after graduation rate that are offered within this college. I don't know of any other college that offers actual hands-on construction and provide real world challenges for the students.
Growing up I have been surrounded by design and construction, so naturally I gravitated towards that field. My parents are both Mississippi State graduates, so I had been looking to attend Mississippi State for my whole life. Upon finding the Building Construction Science department, I knew that I had found where I needed to be. The hands-on aspect and the community of CAAD at Â鶹´«Ã½ are second to none.
I was drawn toward CAADatÂ鶹´«Ã½ due to the accomplished programs within CAAD. I've been passionate about architecture, construction, and design since I was a child; therefore, when surveying architecture and construction programs throughout the southeast, Mississippi State's Building Construction Science Department quickly stood out amongst the choices. The studio-based curriculum and overall approach here is unique, along with the added value and comradery present at Â鶹´«Ã½.
I grew up working with my dad in construction, and when I found out about the BCS department there was no doubt in my mind that’s what I was going to do.
I’d say Howell Building because all my friends study there.
Enjoy high school more and don’t stress over grades; they don’t matter as much until you get to college.
I plan to go into the field of construction and to own my own construction company, and the BCS department is the best Â鶹´«Ã½ has to offer.
It has to be Dudy Noble; it’s hard to beat a weekend baseball game.
I chose CAAD because I really loved the studio-based program and that we get a business administrative minor along with the BCS degree.
My favorite spot on campus is the Drill Field. It is the perfect place to enjoy the sun, read a book, or talk with friends.
Associate Professor Michele Herrmann, who holds a Juris Doctor degree from New York Law School and has been teaching fourth-year BCS studios since fall 2011, said she’s excited to learn the administration side and see things through that perspective.
I serve as the Executive Vice President of Probity Contracting. Being a midsized contracting company focused on the Southeast, I am personally involved with every aspect of the company, from the company's financials to the daily activities of our labor forces in the field.
